Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (PM YASASVI) – Full Details

The Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi, implements the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students under the centrally sponsored PM YASASVI (Prime Minister’s Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India) initiative. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students belonging to the OBC category for pursuing higher education at the post-matriculation or post-secondary level within India.

Objective of the Scheme

The main aim of the Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students is to encourage and support students from economically weaker OBC families to continue their studies after Class 10. It helps them pursue professional, technical, and higher education courses without facing financial hardships.

Components of the Scholarship

The scholarship covers tuition fees and academic allowance for the complete duration of the course, as per the category of course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must belong to the OBC category.
  • The annual income of parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
  • The student must be pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary studies in a government-recognized institution.
  • The student must have at least 75% attendance in the previous academic year.
  • Students studying through correspondence or online courses are not eligible for the academic allowance.
  • Students pursuing CA, ICWA, CS, ICFA shall be treated as day scholars for allowance purposes.

Important Terms & Conditions

  1. Scholarship is available to all OBC students with parental income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
  2. Regular attendance of at least 75% in the previous year is mandatory.
  3. Students pursuing CA, ICWA, CS, ICFA are treated as day scholars for the academic allowance.
  4. Upload all relevant documents on the E-district Delhi Portal.
  5. Only two boys from the same parents/guardians are entitled to receive scholarships; this restriction does not apply to girls.
  6. Income certificate should be taken once only, at the time of admission.
  7. Applications for institutions outside Delhi must include institute verification and parent/guardian verification pages.
  8. Fee structure must be on the official letterhead of the institution with the stamp and signature of the head.
  9. Students studying in the same stage of education with different subjects (e.g. B.Com after B.A., or M.A. after M.Sc.) are not eligible.
  10. Students pursuing another professional line after completing one (e.g. LLB after B.Ed) are not eligible.
  11. Bank account must be Aadhaar-seeded for direct benefit transfer (DBT).
  12. The scheme’s provisions are subject to modification by the Central or State Government at any time.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the E-district Delhi Portal
  2. Log in or register with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  3. Search for the Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (PM YASASVI) application form.
  4. Fill in all required details and upload necessary documents.
  5. Submit the application and download the acknowledgement receipt.
  6. Track the status of your application through the same portal.
