Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students – Full Details

The Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi, implements the centrally sponsored Post Matric Scholarship for SC students to support students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category for pursuing post-matriculation/post-secondary (college/university) studies within India.

Value of Scholarship

The value of the scholarship covers the complete duration of the course and includes:

  • Maintenance allowance
  • Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
  • Study tour charges
  • Thesis typing/printing charges for research scholars
  • Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses
  • Book bank facility for specified courses
  • Additional allowance for students with disability (Divyang)

Note: States/UTs may add courses to the groups as per laid down standards. Ten percent extra allowance is provided for Divyang (students with disability).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a resident of Delhi.
  • Student must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • Parents/guardians' income from all sources should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
  • Student must be enrolled in a government-recognized post-matriculation/post-secondary institution.
  • Regular attendance of at least 75% in the previous year is required.
  • Students availing any other scholarship/stipend (e.g., merit scholarship) are not eligible for this scheme.

Important Terms & Conditions

  1. The applicant should be a resident of Delhi.
  2. Scholarship is available to SC students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh per annum and who are pursuing post-matriculation/post-secondary studies in a government-recognized institution.
  3. Upload all relevant documents including Aadhaar, bank details, previous year marksheet, original fee receipts, fee structure, income certificate and caste certificate.
  4. All children of the same family/parents are eligible subject to the income limit. Students availing any other scholarship/stipend (such as merit scholarship) will not be eligible.
  5. A certificate from the institution stating the student is not receiving any other scholarship/stipend must be uploaded.
  6. Regular attendance not less than 75% in the previous year is mandatory.
  7. Provide date of admission/commencement of classes and expected completion date of the course.
  8. Upload copies of certificates, diplomas, degrees in respect of all previous examinations passed.
  9. Income certificate must be issued by a competent authority (SDM/Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), GNCTD) and valid at the time of submission.
  10. For institutes outside Delhi, institute verification and parent/guardian verification pages must be uploaded on the E-district portal.
  11. Upload a copy of caste certificate issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
  12. Incomplete applications will be treated as cancelled without intimation.
  13. Hostel rent will be provided as per scheme guidelines.
  14. Fee structure must be on the official letterhead of the concerned institute with stamp and signature of the head of institute.
  15. Candidates who, after passing one stage of education, are studying at the same stage in a different subject (e.g., B.Com after B.A.; M.A. after M.Sc.) are not eligible.
  16. Students who pursue another professional line after completing one professional course (e.g., LLB after B.T/B.Ed) are not eligible. From academic year 1980-81, studies in two professional courses are allowed.
  17. Scholars will be paid enrolment/registration, tuition, games, union, library, magazine, medical examination and other compulsory fees; refundable deposits are excluded.
  18. Follow guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
  19. Student bank account should be Aadhaar-seeded for DBT.
  20. All eligible SC candidates will be given scholarship as prescribed under the scheme.
  21. The provisions of this scheme may be amended by the Central/State Government at any time.

  2. Register or log in with Aadhaar-linked credentials.
  3. Locate the Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students application form.
  4. Fill in details and upload required documents.
  5. Submit the application and download the acknowledgement.
  6. Track application status on the same portal.
